Steps a workflow can run in VATSIM.
- Get network summaryGet how busy VATSIM is right now: connected clients, unique users, and how many pilots, controllers, ATIS stations and prefiled flight plans there are. Also returns the network's reference tables for controller facilities, controller ratings, pilot ratings and military ratings.
- List online pilotsList the pilots flying on VATSIM right now, with their live position, altitude, groundspeed, transponder and filed flight plan. Narrow the list by callsign, VATSIM ID, departure or arrival airport, aircraft type, pilot or military rating, server, and an altitude band.
- Get an online pilotGet one pilot who is flying on VATSIM right now, by callsign or VATSIM ID: their live position, altitude, groundspeed, heading, transponder and the flight plan they filed.
- List online controllersList the air traffic controllers staffing VATSIM right now, with their position callsign, frequency, rating, visual range and controller info text. Narrow the list by callsign, VATSIM ID, position type, controller rating, or server.
- Get an online controllerGet one controller who is online right now, by position callsign or VATSIM ID: their frequency, rating, visual range, how long they have been logged on and their controller info text.
- List prefiled flight plansList the flight plans pilots have filed but not yet connected to fly, the network's departure board for the next few hours. Narrow it by callsign, VATSIM ID, departure or arrival airport, or aircraft type.
- List online ATIS stationsList the ATIS broadcasts running on VATSIM right now, each with its information letter, frequency, position and the full spoken text. This is the quickest way to read the active runways and conditions an airport is advertising.
- List audio transceiversList the radio transceivers every connected client is listening and transmitting on, with each one's frequency, position and height. This is what decides who can hear whom on VATSIM's voice network.
- List FSD serversList the FSD servers pilot and controller clients connect to, with each one's hostname, location and whether it is currently accepting connections. Choose the live network, the sweatbox training servers, or both.
- Get a memberGet a VATSIM member's profile by their VATSIM ID: controller rating, pilot rating, military rating, the region, division and subdivision they belong to, when they joined, and when their rating last changed.
- Get a member's hoursGet how many hours a member has flown and controlled on VATSIM, broken down by the rating they held at the time.
- Check if a member is onlineCheck whether a member is connected to VATSIM right now, and read that connection if they are. Returns online as false rather than failing when they are offline, so a workflow can branch on it directly.
- List a member's flight plansList the last 50 flight plans a member filed, each with the route, aircraft, cruise altitude, departure and arrival airports and remarks. Narrow it to one city pair.
- List a member's flightsList a member's past pilot connections, newest first, with the callsign, server, and the start and end time of every flight they have flown on VATSIM.
- List a member's controlling sessionsList a member's past controlling sessions, newest first, each with the position worked, the times, and the session's traffic counters: aircraft tracked and seen, flight plans amended, and handoffs initiated, received and refused.
- List online pilot connectionsList every live pilot connection as VATSIM's member API records it: the connection id, callsign, server, logon time and the flight plan on file.
- List online controller connectionsList every live controller connection as VATSIM's ATC API records it: the connection id, position callsign, server, rating and logon time.
- Find a member by Discord IDFind the VATSIM ID behind a Discord account, for members who have linked the two in VATSIM's community portal. Returns linked as false rather than failing when there is no link.
- List regionsList VATSIM's three regions (Americas, Asia Pacific, and Europe, Middle East and Africa) with the VATSIM ID of each region's director.
- List divisionsList VATSIM's divisions with the region each belongs to and whether it is split into subdivisions.
- List subdivisionsList VATSIM's subdivisions, the vACCs and virtual area control centres inside a division, with the division each belongs to.
- List countriesList every country VATSIM recognises, with the region, division and vACC that covers it.
- Get airspace map dataGet the download links for VATSIM's current airspace data: the FIR boundary files (as .dat and as GeoJSON) and the VATSpy dataset. Use these to draw controller boundaries on a map.
- List eventsList the events running now or coming up across VATSIM, each with its start and end time, the airports and routes involved, who is organising it, the briefing and the banner image.
- Get an eventGet one VATSIM event by its id: the full briefing, start and end times, the airports and suggested routes, the organising division, and the banner image.
- List a division's eventsList the events one VATSIM division is running now or has coming up, optionally narrowed to a date range.
- List a region's eventsList the events running now or coming up anywhere in one of VATSIM's three regions, optionally narrowed to a date range.
- Export the events calendarExport every current and upcoming VATSIM event as an iCalendar (.ics) feed, ready to save as a file or subscribe to from a calendar app.
- Get METAR weatherGet the current METAR weather report VATSIM is using for one airport or several. Enter full ICAO codes, a prefix of one to three characters for a whole country, or ALL for the whole world.
- Get an airportGet an airport's entry in VATSIM's AIP: its name, IATA code, city and country, elevation, transition altitude and level, the FIR it sits in, local notes for pilots, and the controller positions that serve it.
- List an airport's stationsList the controller positions that serve an airport (centre, approach, departure, tower, ground and delivery) with each one's callsign, name, frequency, and whether it is the unicom/CTAF frequency to use when nobody is online.
- Get a member's live connectionsGet a member's live connections as VATSIM's audio network sees them: the callsign, whether they are flying or controlling, the frequency and visual range for a controller, their position, and any secondary positions they have set.
