Steps a workflow can run in Statistics Norway.
- Search tablesFind Statbank tables by words in their titles, such as 'population', 'consumer price index' or 'salmon'. Each comes with its table number, the periods it covers, how often it is updated, when it was last updated and its link.
- List recently updated tablesList the Statbank tables updated since a day, newest first, optionally only those matching words. Statistics Norway publishes new figures at 08:00 Norwegian time on working days.
- Get table detailsSee what a Statbank table holds: its title, the periods it covers and when it was updated, each variable with how many values it has, whether it must be chosen and how it can be grouped, what it measures in which unit, its notes and who to contact.
- List a variable's valuesList the values of one of a table's variables with their codes, such as every region, age or industry, or the groups of one of its groupings (such as counties), optionally only those whose code or name contains some text.
- Get table dataGet figures from a Statbank table as one row per figure: choose regions, what to measure, the periods (the latest few or a range) and any other variable such as sex or age. Each row has its period, region, measure, unit, status flag and every dimension named, with the value as a number.
- Get the latest figuresGet a table's figures for its latest period, for one place or the whole country, such as the latest population of Bergen or this month's consumer price index. Other variables are left at their totals.
- Get data from a saved queryGet the figures of a query saved in Statbank (choose the table and values on ssb.no, then save the query to get its number or link) as one row per figure. A saved query that follows the latest periods returns new figures as they come.
- Search classificationsFind Norway's official classifications in KLASS by words, such as 'municipalities', 'industry' or 'occupation', optionally with Statistics Norway's code lists (such as postal code areas).
- Get a classificationGet a classification or code list from KLASS: what it covers, the version valid today and every earlier version with the days it applied, and who keeps it.
- List classification codesList a classification's codes and names valid on a day, such as every municipality today or the industry sections, optionally one level only, chosen codes, or names containing some text.
- Look up a codeFind the name of one code in a classification on a day, such as municipality 4601 (Bergen) or industry 47.110, with the code above it. A code that isn't valid that day comes back as not found.
- List code changesList how a classification's codes changed between two days: codes added, ended, renamed or moved to new codes, such as municipalities merged in 2024. Optionally only the changes to one code.
- Map codes between classificationsTurn codes from one classification into another on a day, such as postal codes into municipalities or municipalities into counties, for every code or only those given.
