Dragon Ball API

Film, TV & Fandom

Look up Dragon Ball data through the free, keyless Dragon Ball API: page through the characters and the planets, filter characters by name, race, gender or affiliation and planets by name or whether they have been destroyed, and fetch any single record by id along with a character's transformations or a planet's natives. Every action prints its results in full, so a run shows the records themselves rather than a count of them. No account or API key is required. This is an independent integration with the community-run dragonball-api.com and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the rights holders.

Actions

Steps your workflow can run in Dragon Ball API.

List charactersRead one page of the character roster, with each character's own details as the API records them. Set the page size and the page, and read the total count, the pages either side of this one and a has_more flag off the result to walk the whole cast.
Get a characterFetch one character by id. This is the only lookup that carries the planet they came from and their transformations, both of which the listing actions leave out.
Search charactersFind characters by name, race, gender or affiliation, in any combination: race Saiyan with affiliation Z Fighter returns every Saiyan fighting on that side. Race, gender and affiliation are dropdowns of the values the API documents. A filtered query is not paginated, so this returns every match at once.
Get a character's transformationsList every transformation of one character, such as Goku's Super Saiyan forms. The API has no route of its own for these, so this reads them off the character record and hands back just the list. Plenty of characters have none, which returns an empty list.
List planetsRead one page of the planets, with each planet's own details as the API records them, and the same paging fields the character listing carries.
Get a planetFetch one planet by id. This is the only lookup that carries the characters who come from it.
Search planetsFind planets by name, by whether they have been destroyed, or by both. Like the character search, a filtered query is not paginated, so this returns every match at once.
List a planet's charactersList the characters who come from one planet. Like transformations, these arrive on the planet record rather than at a route of their own, and a planet nobody comes from returns an empty list.
