Umweltbundesamt Air Data
Read Germany's official air quality data from the German Environment Agency (Umweltbundesamt): about 400 measuring stations run by the federal states, with hourly and daily values for nitrogen dioxide, particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5), ozone, sulphur dioxide and carbon monoxide since 2016.

Steps a workflow can run in Umweltbundesamt Air Data.
- List pollutantsList every pollutant UBA publishes data for, such as nitrogen dioxide, particulate matter (PM10 and PM2.5), ozone and benzene, with its code, chemical symbol and unit.
- List averaging periodsList the averaging periods UBA gives values in, such as the one hour average, the daily average and the daily maxima, with how many hours each averages and how many values a day it gives.
- List measuring networksList the measuring networks behind the stations: one for each of Germany's 16 federal states, and UBA's own.
- List air quality index bandsList the hourly values that put each pollutant in each class of UBA's air quality index, from very good to very poor, to read a value against.
- List stationsFind air quality measuring stations in Germany by state, type (background, traffic or industry), area (urban, suburban or rural), the data they have and words in their name, town or postcode. Each comes with its code, address, coordinates and a map link.
- Get a stationGet one measuring station by its code, such as DEBE010: its name, address, type, area, coordinates and map link, and which pollutants it measures in which averaging periods, from which day to which. An unknown code is an answer (found is false).
- Get measurementsGet a station's values for one pollutant over a period, hourly or daily, with the lowest, highest and mean value. Up to 31 days of hourly values or a year of daily ones. Times are German local time, and each value also comes with its time in UTC.
- Get the latest measurementGet a station's most recent value for one pollutant, with when it was measured. Looks back 7 days; found is false when there is no value in that time.
- Compare stationsGet one pollutant's value at every station for one hour or one day, in all of Germany or one state, highest first: which stations had the worst air yesterday, or at 8 in the morning.
- Get air quality historyGet a station's hourly air quality index over a period, up to 31 days: each hour's class from very good to very poor, and each pollutant's value and class. Times are German local time, and each value also comes with its time in UTC.
- Get current air qualityGet a station's latest hourly air quality index, from very good to very poor, with each pollutant's value and class. Found is false for a station that no longer measures.
- Get current air quality at every stationGet the latest hourly air quality index at every station in Germany or in one state, worst first, optionally only those at or worse than a class such as moderate.
- Get air quality forecastGet UBA's hourly air quality forecast for a station for the next 24 hours: each pollutant's expected value and class, and the worst class each hour.
- Get exceedancesGet how often each station exceeded the EU limit or target value for PM10, nitrogen dioxide or ozone in a year, month by month, most first. The current year counts so far.
- Get annual statisticsGet each station's figures for one pollutant in a year, as UBA checks them against EU limit values: the annual mean and the number of hours or days above each limit. A year appears once its data is final, usually by the middle of the next year.
